BroadSource EMU SaaS allows BroadWorks UC users to better manage the complexity of subscriber configuration information

LONDON, Mar-17-2017 — /EPR TELECOM NEWS/ — BroadSource Europe Ltd, a specialist global software development and telecommunications engineering company, today announced the launch of EMU SaaS (Software as a Service) platform for its existing and prospective European customers.

EMU, developed by BroadSource, allows global Service Providers, who utilise the BroadWorks™ UC platform, to better manage the day-to-day complexity of subscriber configuration information. EMU is already available in Asia as a SaaS and is now also available for European Service Providers via the EMU SaaS delivery model.

Fifteen years of telco engineering experience, coupled with today’s Cloud delivery technologies means that EMU can now solve Service Provider problems as a Cloud Service across Europe.

Haydn Faltyn, BroadSource co-founder and CEO noted, “We are so pleased to be launching EMU SaaS to our European customers. This technology is unique to the Cloud UC ecosystem. Our customers have been benefitting from EMU operating within their own environment or our Asian point of presence for a number of years now. This next milestone means that our European Service Providers customers can now also benefit from a subscription to EMU SaaS. The power of EMU is solving really practical, everyday problems for our customers and their Cloud UC environments based on BroadWorks™ technology. We are delighted with the feedback so far and excited to have EMU available in Europe

About EMU
EMU is an Extraction, Manipulation and Update (EMU) platform for Cloud UC developed by BroadSource and specialising in the BroadWorks™ platform. With just one click, Service Providers can:

  • EXTRACT every piece of information from their BroadWorks™ environment to audit, analyse or backup customer group configurations
  • MANIPULATE thousands of configuration attributes in seconds, preparing for migrations
  • UPDATE, en masse, configuration settings, saving hundreds of ‘clicks’ and many hours

Our European Customers
Using their own secure BroadWorks™ credentials, Service Providers and their partners can perform one or all of the services hosted within the BroadSource multi-tenanted, fully redundant EMU SaaS instance. EMU now performs many subscriber manipulation tasks that where once thought of as impossible. As Cloud UC subscriptions take over premise PBX numbers, EMU is perfectly positioned to allow the Service Provider to rapidly scale, contain operational costs and simplify the management of large volumes of subscriber configuration data. Service Providers in Europe now have an array of ‘every day use cases’ to better manage their BroadWorks ™ powered Cloud UC platform.

Mobile World Conference 2017: Soracom launches IoT connectivity services in Europe

BARCELONA, Mar-2-2017 — /EPR TELECOM NEWS/ — Soracom announced this week at Mobile World Conference its launch of IoT connectivity services in Europe and confirmed commitment to growing IoT by eliminating the barriers related to security, price, speed-to-value and scalability that currently limit IoT development.

The Internet of things offers endless possibilities. With IoT adoption growing quickly, developers are finding that security and scalability remain key challenges. For start-ups and developers, typical enterprise-grade solutions are out of reach, and more affordable solutions often lack crucial security features.

“We offer low start-up costs, no binding contracts and a flexible pay-as-you-go model for every use case, from garage-level prototyping to massive industrial deployments,” said Parag Mittal, Chief Commercial Officer of Soracom. “We need a sustainable Internet of Things. A smart meter that consumes lot of power for onboard encryption and data transmission to the cloud is not that smart. By reducing power and data consumption on the device side, and delivering a private network as a service for everyone, we ensure a secure, scalable, sustainable ecosystem for IoT.”

“Soracom aims to use its platform to contribute to the overall growth of the IoT industry,” said Ken Tamagawa, Chief Executive Officer of Sorcom. “Current IoT connectivity providers do not really offer secure and swift delivery of services that are affordable and available for everyone in a democratized way. Connecting devices to the internet or the cloud is the easy part. Securing devices and data is the most critical. If it’s on the public internet, it’s hackable. Our customers connect their devices directly to the cloud, using a private network provided by Soracom instead of public internet.”

Widely recognized as one of Japan’s leading IoT technology providers, Soracom uses a unique approach and architecture to provide secure data transfer at lower costs for its global customers and brings this technology to users across all industries. Canon, Konica MinoltaSafecast, Komatsu, Omniflow, and Enerbrain are just a few among the 5,000 clients Soracom connects today.

Soracom’s SIM cards are tailored for IoT devices and can be managed through APIs and a web console that allow convenient, real-time activation/deactivation of SIMs, traffic monitoring, network configuration and visualization, storage and management of data, and many more detailed operations.

WorldSIM launches a new international SIM card that ends roaming charges for travellers worldwide

LONDON, March 24, 2016 — /EPR TELECOM NEWS/ — Finally the extortionate roaming charges travellers face when they go abroad has become a thing of the past. Roaming experts, WorldSIM have launched a new smart international SIM card that allows international travellers to pay the same rates as locals when they travel overseas. Importantly, users can also roam on their existing number with the use of WorldSIM’s virtual phone number service.

worldsim

In Canada and Mexico, a call back to the US is just 22 cents and it’s free to receive calls. What’s really impressive is that WorldSIM offers international travellers going further afield very low rates as well. In Europe data rates start from 15 cents per MB and so do calls. Incoming calls are free in 95 of the most popular international destinations. The service remains a prepaid service and no subscriptions are required. Just recharge when you need more credit.

The new WorldSIM international sim card also offers roaming in more destinations than most operators worldwide. With their new release sim card, 25 new roaming destinations have been added bringing the total to 195 roaming countries. This means travellers can now stay connected for less in more exotic locations like Belize and the Bolivia.

international sim card

Very soon, WorldSIM will also be launching global bundles, in many destinations travellers will be able to get 1GB of data and unlimited calls for just $30.

This new travel SIM card offers billing in multiple currencies and the technology has been improved to allow the sim to connect automatically to the operators with the best rates and coverage. The roaming SIM works in any unlocked handset and comes triple punched so it fits into all cell phones and tablets.

Arif Reza, CEO at WorldSIM commented “The technology inside our new SIM card is more advanced than ever giving users a simple solution that makes a big difference. With our new line of smart watch phones and WiFi devices you don’t even need to switch SIM cards when you travel.”

With the vacation season approaching thousands of travellers will be hit with unexpected roaming bills and they aren’t the only ones that suffer. Small businesses pay on average $252 per device for bill shock, while larger companies pay up to $395 per device*.

New product launch: TechTable Pty Ltd announces the release of their flagship multi award winning product “TechTable” in the United States

DELIVERING ADVANCED SAFETY AND INCREASED PRODUCTIVITY TO THE TELECOMMUNICATIONS INDUSTRY.

Sydney, Australia, October 28, 2014 — /EPR TELECOM NEWS/ — The award-winning TechTable was officially launched in the US at the BICSI Fall conference and provides a portable, lightweight and sturdy work surface for communications technicians to safely and efficiently terminate fibre optic and copper communications cabling.

Installers of highly complex cabling projects have seen rapid advances and developments in termination technologies however there have been very little improvements in the cluttered and uncomfortable work environments.

By using the TechTable, installers can now perform tasks at waist height and easily rotate between standing and seated positions. The platform is height adjustable, stable and comfortable and allows technicians to temporarily mount a patch panels and components onto the table for faster loading, termination consistency and improved accuracy.

David McHarg, Managing Director of TechTable Pty Ltd commented “Installers are faced with fairly primitive working conditions, meaning that neck, shoulder and back pain is not uncommon. Often technicians sit on milk crates, or in the cabinet, and are squeezed into a confined spaces for hours at a time, I couldn’t help but think there must be a better way.”

After much of his own research, David formed a team consisting of OHS consultant Glenda Snoxall, ACT Safety Regulator and Ergonomist Richard Siddell and Peter McKay of Industrious Design to develop a solution. Following an in-depth risk assessment and report in accordance with the code of practice for the prevention of Musclo-Skeletal disorders 2007 the TechTable was designed to address the key features required from a health and safety aspect and ensured compliance with this code of practice.

Prior to commercial release, The TechTable was trialled by a number of communications and electrical service companies with feedback indicating that it not only offered a much more comfortable position than traditional installation methods, but also delivered far greater accuracy and speed. Testing also identified that manual handling risks were either eliminated or reduced, and the installer’s productivity was increased by up to 24%.

The TechTable is designed for easy daily transport inside a padded carry bag and the set-up time is less than one minute. The dimensions are designed to suit tight-fit positions in cluttered computer rack environments, telecommunications rooms and data centres.

Currently the Tech table is used throughout Australia and has successfully launched in the US. For more information, including product specifications and OHS/WHS data, visit TechTable (http://www.techtable.co)

3CX Delivers an Easy and Affordable On Premise Mobile Device Management Solution

3CX, developer of the award-winning Windows VoIP PBX 3CX Phone System and mobile device management solution 3CX Mobile Device Manager, today announces the launch of the On Premise edition of 3CX Mobile Device Manager for Windows Server – an easy to deploy and inexpensive on premise mobile device management solution that allows businesses to retain full control of their mobile devices and location tracking data in a private cloud or on premise without the administration complexity.

“The demand for an easy to deploy and affordable on premise mobile device management solution is clear, yet has seemed to be surprisingly lacking in the market till now. The 3CX Mobile Device Manager On Premise edition provides businesses with an inexpensive and easy to manage solution”, said Nick Galea, 3CX CEO. “3CX Mobile Device Manager allows businesses to fully retain control of their data without the complexity and headache that other mobile device management solutions pose.”

Easy to Deploy and Manage

3CX Mobile Device Manager allows companies to leverage their Windows Server knowledge and infrastructure and thus deploy a mobile device management solution without the additional administration overhead.

Other mobile device management solutions are either optimised for hosted and thus difficult to install, require Linux knowledge or are prohibitively expensive.

Finally, an Affordable On Premise Mobile Device Management Solution

Many MDM vendors only offer cloud solutions, which drastically hinders businesses looking to retain control of their mobile data. On premise MDM solutions can be very expensive to purchase and difficult to deploy and manage. 3CX Mobile Device Manager differentiates itself from the competition as its On Premise edition is affordable and easier to deploy and manage, unlike some other cumbersome MDM solutions. Businesses are reducing their expenses and are therefore reluctant to pay the enterprise-level pricing and support the competition demands.

Meet Your Legal, Reporting and Internal Policy Requirements

Companies that need to retain full control of their data for internal policy reasons or are legally obliged to provide reports to HIPAA or SEC have faced a very limited choice of mobile device management solutions. Businesses who face these requirements have been forced to shelve their mobile device management plan or reluctantly move to a difficult to manage and expensive MDM solution. The 3CX Mobile Device Management On Premise edition addresses this market.

Private Cloud, On Premise or Hosted: Your Choice

Experience all the features of the On Premise edition of 3CX Mobile Device Manager for free for up to five devices. Downloading this edition is easy and only takes a few minutes. Read the step by step guide on how to get started, the installation and configuration manual and user manual.

Check out the Hosted edition of 3CX Mobile Device Manager by signing up for a FREE 5 device account! The 3CX MDM pricing can be seen here. Visit the 3CX Mobile Device Manager website at www.MobileDeviceManager.com and find us on Facebook.

Conference Call Provider Releases New YouTube to Showcase their No VoIP Service

The ability to conference call is integral to many businesses, regardless of their size. Buzz Conferencing provides services for a variety of organisations, from small one person businesses to SMEs, charities, Government Departments, major corporations and churches. Although the company is based within the United Kingdom, Buzz Conferencing caters for clients throughout the world.

Buzz Conferencing’s global customer base is why they have launched their brand new promotional video on the world’s second biggest search engine – YouTube.com. “We are so excited to show everyone our new video” says Pete Bennet, CEO of Buzz Conferencing, “It was important to us that the video clearly explained what it is we do and what makes us unique to the many other audio conferencing providers out there. I think the final video showcases this really well.”

Their finished video is a stylish animation that explains to the viewer the benefits of audio conferencing, the downsides associated with some conference services, and how Buzz Conferencing avoids these pitfalls to make their high quality conference call service the most reliable. The key to their reliable service is that they don’t use the cheap VoIP lines that many other service providers do.

VoIP stands for Voice Over IP and works in a similar way to Skype. VoIP is where a voice is turned into data that is then sent across the globe via a public network on the Internet. “VoIP can be extremely unreliable – especially during busy periods when the world and her dog are trying to access the public network. VoIP causes a lot of frustration for businesses who are trying to communicate, so our calls are done differently.” Explains Pete.

Buzz Conferencing uses high quality telco-grade phone lines for all of their audio conferencing. They use the same equipment and telephone lines as the major telephone companies, which means that they can guarantee high line quality and industrial-strength reliability all year round, even at the busiest times. “The service we provide is fully supported and 100% professional – so much so that we’re trusted by Government Departments and large corporations.” says Pete.

As Buzz Conferencing’s YouTube video says, “Our high quality doesn’t mean high price”, as 95% of their current customers switched to their service to save money. “We offer a full free trial so that anyone can see for themselves how easy, reliable and professional our conference call service is.” says Pete.

Buzz Conferencing provides a wealth of features to support and enhance their audio conferencing service. They provide free secure recordings of conference calls, free powerful in-conference controls, free international access, free bespoke configuration and unlimited personal support. “Many of our customers come to us for our old fashioned approach to customer support.” explains Pete. “All of our support lines are based within the UK, so we won’t forward our customers calls halfway around the world before they can talk to the person they need. We offer free and unlimited telephone support 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”

SES selected by TRT Turk to reach audiences in sub-Saharan Africa

SES (NYSE Euronext Paris and Luxembourg Stock Exchange: SESG) has announced it has been selected by Turkish public broadcaster, Türkiye Radyo ve Televizyon Kurumu (TRT), to reach audiences in sub-Saharan Africa.

TRT will use capacity on SES-5 located at 5 degrees east to broadcast its free-to-air digital channel TRT Turk and its radio channel Turkiyenin Sesi Radyosu (TRS) to the region using the satellite’s unique Ka-band uplink capabilities, allowing for flexible operations between Europe and Africa.

With a line-up of almost 500 TV channels and access to nearly 25 million homes across Europe and Africa, SES’ 5 degrees East orbital position provides growth opportunities for broadcasters and offers a wider choice of TV programmes for viewers. SES-5 was launched in July 2012 and complements SES’ successful ASTRA 4A satellite at this orbital position providing additional and extended coverage over South Africa, North Africa, Europe and the Atlantic Ocean.

Norbert Hölzle, Senior Vice President Commercial Europe of SES, said: “We are happy to extend our partnership with TRT Turk and look forward to broadcasting the Turkish channel to new audiences in sub-Saharan Africa where demand for digital TV content is constantly growing. Satellite is the most ideal form of infrastructure to broadcast TV content to a wide audience across large geographical regions.”

Ibrahim Sahin, General Manager of TRT, said: “We rely on SES’ expertise and global satellite fleet to reach important audiences and markets outside of Turkey. SES contracts Boeing to manufacture SES-9 satellite for Asia

SES S.A. (Euronext Paris and Luxembourg Stock Exchange: SESG) and Boeing has announced it has selected Boeing to build a new communication satellite, SES-9, to serve the fast growing markets in Asia.

The new satellite – ordered through SES’ affiliate company SES Satellite Leasing Ltd – will expand SES’ capabilities to provide direct-to-home broadcasting and other communications services in Northeast Asia, South Asia and Indonesia, as well as maritime communications for vessels in the Indian Ocean.

The spacecraft will be positioned at the orbital slot of 108.2 degrees East and provide incremental as well as replacement capacity to this well established SES slot over Asia, where it will be collocated with the existing SES-7 and NSS-11 satellites.

SES-9 will be built in Boeing’s El Segundo Satellite Development Center based on the Boeing 702HP platform. The satellite is designed to operate for 15 years in geosynchronous orbit with a 12.7-kilowatt payload and 57 high-power Ku-band transponders (equivalent to 81 x 36 MHz transponders). The spacecraft will carry a xenon ion propulsion system (XIPS) for all on-orbit maneuvering and a chemical bi-propellant system for initial orbit raising.

Boeing has a 25-year relationship with SES. SES-9 is the 11th spacecraft that SES has ordered from Boeing and the contract includes an option for an additional satellite. Financial details are not being disclosed.

States Romain Bausch, President and CEO of SES said: “We look forward to work again with Boeing on an important addition to our global fleet: SES-9 will greatly expand our transmission capacity over Asia, while adding increased flexibility and redundancy to a strategic orbital slot. SES is convinced that Boeing’s 702HP will prove to be mission-critical in order to provide state-of-the-art, high-power satellite capacity to the thriving markets of Asia.”

“We are pleased to be selected by SES to build a highly flexible 702HP satellite, which has a uniquely configured XIPS propulsion system and chemical bi-propellant system, reducing the spacecraft’s launch weight while allowing for maximum payload capacity,” said Craig Cooning, Chief Executive Officer of Boeing Satellite Systems International and Vice President and General Manager of Boeing Space & Intelligence Systems. “Boeing has continuously evolved the 702 design since it was introduced over 15 years ago, allowing us to provide SES a satellite that will be consistent with its business requirements.”

HITEC Luxembourg and SES TechCom sign multi antenna procurement contract

HITEC Luxembourg S.A., the Luxembourg based engineering and technology company has announced it has been selected for provisioning four antenna systems as part of the satellite ground stations to monitor and control the EDRS satellite network. The project is led by SES TechCom, a subcontractor to DLR (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt), which recently signed a contract with Astrium to furnish major parts of the ground segment. The contract with HITEC Luxembourg includes the design, manufacturing and on-site installation of the antennas at key sites in Germany, UK and Belgium.

“The ground infrastructure is an essential part of European Data Relay Satellite System (EDRS). The high quality standard in product and service delivery of SES TechCom ensures that all requirements for such an innovative ground segment are met. Relying on the experience gained in several successful accomplished European projects with our partner HITEC Luxembourg, we selected the company to supply the four antenna systems,” said Gerhard Bethscheider, Managing Director SES TechCom.

EDRS is the European network of geostationary satellites which acts as gateway between Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites and ground stations. The system will allow these LEO satellites to deliver data continuously in broadband quality, even with no line-of-sight to their respective ground station. EDRS will offer new opportunities in data acquisition and delivery following disasters and foster new applications in the field of environmental protection, security and weather forecasting.

The innovative 6.8 meter diameter, limited motion antennas will play an integral role in the system architecture of the EDRS. The EDRS ground stations will consist of two ‘feeder link’ ground stations (FLGS) and two data ground stations, all operating in Ka-Band. The first satellite ground stations are scheduled to be delivered by year end 2013, with the last ones being installed by mid-2014.

“Having accurate information in-time is crucial nowadays, especially when it comes to disaster response and security applications. The EDRS system will significantly increase the timeliness with which we are able to receive data for communication or monitoring services. Reliability and performance of ground stations is a must in these application fields. Our innovative Luxembourg engineered antenna systems fulfil these requirements to support faster and more reliable data transmission, and our company is proud to be awarded this procurement contract in the built up phase of a European space data highway,” stated Yves Elsen, Managing Partner and CEO of HITEC Luxembourg.
