Following the Foreign Office’s warning that Britons should avoid visiting any part of Thailand given that “violence could break out without warning”, it is thought that many people will be reconsidering their travel plans.

Violence and tension has continued to escalate in the country as anti-government protesters known as Red Shirts clash with security forces amid calls for an election.
